Guitarist, Singer/Songwriter, Multi Instrumentalist

I have been a guitarist for over 25 years, my influences range from Rock, R&B, Country, Folk, Progressive, as well as Celtic & Indian music. Primarily self-taught (with the exception of a year of primary instruction) my early influences include Jimmy Page, Pete Townshend, Jeff Beck and George Harrison. The list has grown to include Robert Quine, Bert Jansch, Richard Thompson, Roger McGuinn, Rory Gallagher, Mick Ronson, Ravi Shankar, Wayne Kramer, Steve Cropper...too many to mention...

Bands I have performed and/or recorded with include: Blackjack, Chelsea Saints, The Roost, The Brian Bellew Band, Ecco, The Juano Lippi Band and Cellar Poets. I was also a member of roots band Boxcar Nancy adding Guitar, Steel & Mandolin to live shows as well as a self titled CD.

In the mid 90's I formed The Subterraneans with the extremely talented drummer/ multi- instrumentalist, Mike Roze. After playing some gigs as a duo in New York City's West Village, our very good friend and talented musician Mike Curry was added to the fold on Bass guitar just in time for the bands' debut CD "The Subterraneans" in 1998. This was followed up a couple of years later by the EP "5 Tracks" and most recently "Close To Real" in 2006. The band also appeared on several compilations, including a tribute to English band Dogs D'amour entitled "Bullet Proof Poems".

During the last several years I have stretched out of the comfort zone of a band to perform solo shows. I'm usually involved in a few projects at any given time and I am always available to add to musical projects.

In addition to guitar, my main instrument, I also play (in varying degrees of proficiency, of course) mandolin, steel guitar, keyboards, & sitar.

**LATEST NEWS**

I recorded tracks for Genya Ravan’s latest album “Undercover” now available on itunes. The album features some very cool special guests including Ian McLagen, Nile Rogers, Elliot Randall, Lenny Kaye, and Felix Cavaliere. I also performed with her and her band at a special record release party on Wednesday June 30th, 8:00pm, at The Bitter End in NYC.  It was a great night.

I’ve recently joined the Yonkers based, roots, folk, band Spuyten Duyvil.

After performing with them at last years NERFA conference in upstate New York, I recorded some lap steel tracks for their latest album “New Amsterdam” and now play mandolin and guitar with them as well. Check out their website on my Links page for info on upcoming performances.
